[Development Case] Photoelectric Sensor

Contributing to cost reduction through chip size reduction and package changes while maintaining the characteristics of existing products!

Due to the discontinuation of an LED from a certain manufacturer, the customer decided to redevelop the photoelectric sensor module, considering cost reduction. During the timing of the visit, where the customer was contemplating purchasing from two companies and requesting custom IC development, the flow for custom IC development was established. Using our process, we achieved characteristics similar to the current product. Since there were process differences, we implemented circuit modifications to obtain similar characteristics. Additionally, we made changes to the PKG pin count and size from the conventional product to achieve cost reduction. As a result, we obtained characteristics equivalent to (desired) those of the conventional product, which also led to the development of further derivative products.
